What is a Nauta recharge used for?
Nauta credit is used to access the internet in Cuba — from public ETECSA WiFi zones (parks, hotels, cultural centers) or from home via Nauta Hogar (ADSL home internet service). It's entirely separate from phone credit: Nauta balance cannot be used for calls or SMS, only for browsing online. These are two completely independent services.
Which email address do I use to send a Nauta recharge?
You must use the recipient's Nauta email address, ending in @nauta.com.cu or @nauta.co.cu. Double-check it carefully before paying — recharges cannot be canceled or redirected once sent. How long does a Nauta recharge take to arrive?
Nauta credit arrives almost instantly — usually within a few minutes of confirming payment. Once credited, the balance is valid for 330 days from the last connection, so it won't expire as long as the account is used at least once a year. How much can I send in a single Nauta recharge?
You can send between 250 CUP and 1,250 CUP per transaction. If you need to send more, make multiple consecutive recharges — the balance accumulates in the recipient's Nauta account. Nauta Hogar offers home internet plans ranging from 250 to 1,375 CUP per month, with download speeds from 1 to 4 MB/s and between 30 and 120 monthly hours of connection. They are two entirely different, non-interchangeable services. A Cubacel recharge adds balance for calls, SMS, and mobile data (4G/3G). A Nauta recharge credits an internet account for ETECSA public WiFi zones or Nauta Hogar. If your family member uses mobile data, they need Cubacel. For WiFi internet access, they need Nauta.
